Hello Feb! ;)

Hello people!! I’m back in the sunny island! Hmm, should I be happy or sad? I don’t know. I’m having mixed emotions. I miss my family now, and my cousins. Sigh!

I took plenty of pictures while I was there. Will post them once I’m free this week. It’s back to school work now. Am back in school for more assignment completion.. Sigh!! Ciao! πŸ™‚

President Barack Obama – we can finally call him that.

January 22, 2009 at 1:35 AM (Uncategorized)

At the stroke of 1.05AM on 21st January (12.05PM, 20th January in Washington DC), the world stood still as people from all around the world watched history in the making as the then President-elect Barack Obama was going to be inaugurated to take presidential Oath, and officially become the 44th President of the United States – and the first ever African-American to take charge of the country. πŸ˜‰

Just a piece of statistics: One-quarter of Singapore’s population thronged the National Mall to witness the historic event. When will you ever see such enthusiasm in any other country? And Sarah Palin didn’t show up. I think she must have been busy brushing up on foreign policy and reading newspapers from around the world. πŸ˜›

I stayed up yesterday to watch President Obama being sworn in as the new President of America (and guess what, it rhymes too!). Though I must disclose that the waiting time was annoyingly long, it eventually paid off, particularly to see Bush being flown away home back to Texas. The Bush administration has finally came to a screeching halt. Haha! Personally, I couldn’t care less about presidential elections, let alone world politics. But putting that aside and looking at it on the surface, this is undoubtedly history making at its best. I can’t help but feel elated and overjoyed to have witnessed something which will be penned down in the history books as one of the most remarkable events to have ever taken place. Obama’s will and achievement are a feat where no blacks could ever have imagined. His awe-inspiring inaugural speech left me speechless after watching him speak in front of millions of people (literally millions, or technically billions) in America and the World, including me who was watching on my couch in the living room at way past 1. πŸ˜›

If you can, spare 20 mins of your time to watch Obama’s speech. It’s not often you hear a black politician speak at the White House since Dr King. πŸ˜‰

Obama, Obama, Obama! Cheers to a great 4 years in the office, and a better future for America and the world! 8)

I am indeed living vicariously through the Americans, and I can’t find a reason why I shouldn’t. πŸ˜€

Final week of January in SG..

January 20, 2009 at 10:50 PM (Uncategorized)

Today was fun fun fun.. Dinner at Mad Jack with the guys and Island Creamery for desert at Bukit Timah. I’m really beginning to enjoy the bachelors’ day outing! Hahaha! πŸ˜‰

Yupp!! So it’s 4 more days before my trip.. Hehe!

So I managed to get some shopping done for CNY this past weekend. So far I’ve bought a pair of clothes from Levi’s and Flash & Splash. Just simple tees. Since I’m gonna have the weekend in Jakarta this week, I guess I’ll look for more stuff there (shoes in particular, and hopefully a brand new cap). πŸ˜€

Before I end off, I need to share something really interesting… about cars. LOL!! πŸ˜†

Apparently, Sunday was also an interesting day to be out at Orchard. It seemed to be a perfectΒ day for the rich to show off their rides in town. This was what I came across within a span of 3 hours:

  • 2 Ferraris: Red F430 Spider and 599 GTB Fiorano
  • 2 Lamborghinis: Stealth-painted black Gallardo Spyder and replicated 3000th edition Telesto-grey Murcielago LP640, both provided solid signature exhaust notes whilst travelling from one traffic light junction to another. πŸ˜‰
  • 2 Nissan GT-R’s
  • Lotus Exige
  • Maserati Granturismo
  • Bentley Continental Flying Spur

Bad news: Out of all the cars that I’ve mentioned, I could only manage to snap one car, as it was the only car stationary. The rest were on the road, and my reaction was too slow to capture the cars. πŸ˜›

Good news:Β So which car was it? Well, I managed to snap a picture of the striking 599 GTB while it was parked at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. As you could tell from the stares, it was a sight no one could miss out on. πŸ™‚

/end of post.

Thanks for reading. . πŸ˜€

It’s that time of the year again. :)

January 18, 2009 at 12:45 AM (Uncategorized)

Christmas may be over, but that doesn’t mean “this time of the year” can’t be said about CNY, right? Heh! I can’t wait for the 24th. I’m dying to go back to Jakarta. A new semester has just begun, and an early vacation would surely be beneficial. πŸ˜€

Speaking of which, I really need to get started on CNY shopping. It’s bad enough that I haven’t done my spring cleaning. πŸ˜›

January 16, 2009 at 8:55 AM (Uncategorized)

Welcome to my new WordPress blog! πŸ™‚

Well it’s about time, isn’t it? Forget about changing my old blog’s skin. It’s a new year! Let’s change my blog altogether. Hence, here I am at WordPress. I’m kinda bored of Blogger, so I thought I should make a switch.

After all, change is good… right (Obama, 2008)? LOL! πŸ˜‰
